WORKING TOWARDS A BETTER TOMORROW.

Time to Relax:

Yes, I have already alerted the police. Is anyone hurt? Where are you in the house?

During each day, being a dispatcher can be very hard. It is hard to understand why there are people who want to cause harm to another. It is hard to give a positive attitude when you can’t see or touch an individual when you know they may be in harms way, or even already harmed. Listening to others as a police dispatcher is not an easy job. It can be rewarding when you know a person is safe, or even when you save a person.

I leave my house, with an attitude that I will save someone’s life today. I will make a difference. I sometimes have a hard morning fighting with the kids, getting the hubby to work. Wait is it the other way around? I am so stressed at times.  When I get to work, many are tired and cranky. I fight mentally through all the paper problems and all the picking and prodding that everyone dish’s out. I pick up my head phones and my first call is a lady that can’t find her husband. Then I hear kids in the back ground crying. My neighbor beside me is arguing with her boy friend on the personal phone line. How can I think straight? I deal with the phone call. I get many more in just a few hours. My head is pounding. So, I sit in my chair and breath deep about three times. I close my eyes and think of a warm place with lots of nature around me. Then I rest my breathing slightly. I put a smile on my face and look around the room. Then phone rings again, I gently ask my neighbor to answer. I lean back into my chair and think of a family outing I was at that keeps me smiling.

Staying focused and positive is hard. Yet, it can be rewarding when you look at the trials of life as a positive thing. Giving of yourself to others and making a difference will always be a positive thing. When you ever in your life become stressed, feeling you have a headache coming on, your eyes start to hurt or even when voices seem louder than usual, stop everything and take your mind to a well rounded paradise that has everything you desire. Pick out a few things and become one with that desire. Give yourself the time to become joyful and smile. Smile no matter what the circumstances are. Never revert to using some type of medicine. In my opinion it is a cover up. Use the natural things in this world that have been given to you freely. When you cover up something usually it will come back or mask something, then later on in life you deal with that issue in another way. Keeping your mind and soul at bay and realizing that life is more than stress will allow you the opportunity to live happy.

When the stress becomes high, stand up and smile big. When you feel you can’t go on any longer, sit down and breathe deep then remember that you are here for a reason. Strengthen yourself with joy and peace.
